Financial & Market Feasibility Studies

Independent Analysis for USDA Rural Development and Commercial Lending

Green Country Business Valuations provides independent financial and market feasibility studies for lenders, economic development organizations, and businesses evaluating significant expansion and capital investment projects.

Our feasibility studies are designed to help decision-makers determine whether a proposed project has a reasonable basis for success and whether projected operating performance can support the financing being requested.

We prepare feasibility studies in connection with USDA Rural Development Business & Industry (B&I) Guaranteed Loans, as well as other commercial financing and economic development projects.

Typical assignments include business startups and expansions, manufacturing facilities and equipment, new production capacity, significant capital improvement projects, and projects requiring substantial inventory or working capital.

What We Analyze

Depending upon the project, our analysis may include:

  • Company background and management experience
  • Historical and interim financial performance
  • Industry and market conditions
  • Customer and competitive considerations
  • Proposed project costs and use of funds
  • Management's financial projections
  • Revenue and gross-margin assumptions
  • Working-capital and liquidity requirements
  • Projected debt-service capacity
  • Sensitivity and downside analysis
  • Key project risks and mitigating factors
  • Overall financial and market feasibility

Management prepares the financial projections. We independently evaluate the assumptions underlying those projections based upon historical operating performance, industry conditions, market dynamics, available supporting documentation, and discussions with management.

A Practical, Lender-Focused Feasibility Study

A feasibility study should do more than repeat management's projections. Our analysis evaluates the relationship between the proposed investment, expected operating capacity, market demand, projected revenue and margins, working-capital requirements, and the cash flow available to service the proposed debt.

We also perform sensitivity and downside analysis to evaluate how the project may perform if revenue growth is slower than expected, margins decline, implementation is delayed, or other key assumptions vary from management's base case.

Our work is focused specifically on financial and market feasibility. We do not provide engineering, environmental, construction, legal, or other technical opinions. When technical matters are relevant to our analysis, we rely upon information provided by management and appropriately qualified third-party professionals.

Green Country Business Valuations works with USDA B&I lenders, commercial lenders, economic and industrial development organizations, development and finance authorities, CDFIs, tribal economic development organizations, and businesses undertaking significant capital projects.
